Respite Care
Around-the-clock care for the elderly, so you can recharge your batteries and ensure that your loved one is getting the personal and medical attention they need, in a safe environment.
Planned, short-term care around the service user’s needs
While in respite care at Marian House, service users will have their own bedroom and comfortable living space. Our qualified nurses and care providers tend to every elderly person’s needs during their time with us, as outlined in their individual care plan.
Who is respite care for?
Providing care for the elderly is a demanding job, often taking its toll on family members and friends – both physically and emotionally.
If you’re a primary caregiver, respite care will enable you to share some of your responsibilities as you’ll have the assurance that your loved one will be in safe hands, with qualified nurses and professionals.
This service is usually used by families who wish to restore balance in their lives, and prevent debilitating amounts of stress and exhaustion. For the elderly, it provides a much-needed change of scenery and the chance to socialise with new people.
Respite care can also be organised for families who may have some kind of an emergency, and require urgent support with their loved one. It’s important to remember that needing time to yourself is important and respite care can be a rewarding experience.
What does respite care include?
Respite care can take many forms. At Marian House, we provide residential programs that are tailored to every service user’s needs.
Following an assessment, your loved one will be welcomed into our home and receive around-the-clock support from trained care providers. The care will include medical support from qualified nurses (and GPs, if necessary), support with personal and day-to-day activities, as well as a comfortable living environment with healthy meals, planned activities, and the opportunity to socialise with others.
We can also arrange for longer-term respite care, should a service user need it. Simply get in touch with our friendly team and outline any specific requests.
Come and Say Hello
Nothing beats a face-to-face conversation. Book a time to come and visit us at Marian House, and we will discuss any care needs with you, over a cup of tea and biscuits.
