Enriching Day-to-Day Life with Activities & Events
Our in-house Activity Co-ordinators are dedicated to providing residents with a range of activity choices. Every plan is tailored with individual needs, interests, and abilities in mind.
From creative arts to themed events, there’s always something to get involved with at Marian House
Our engaged team are always willing to explore new ideas. So, should a resident have any particular interests or hobbies in mind, they can communicate them with the team.
Research shows that the more active the mind of an elderly is, the better it is for their mental and physical health. Daily activities, especially in a group setting, is also known to release higher levels of serotonin (the “feel good” hormone) which is responsible for staving off symptoms of anxiety and depression.
So, not only do residents have the chance to enjoy new skills and get to know each other better; but their general mood and happiness levels are sure to increase as well.
Other activities that run at at Marian House include:
- Card games
- Church luncheon club
- Reading/book clubs
- Creative arts such as card making
- creating easter bonnets
The house also hosts themed events (for various special days and occasions throughout the year) as well as professional entertainment. For those who wish to indulge in the more soothing activities, we offer things like massage sessions and reminiscence therapy, and there’s always the opportunity for residents to enjoy solo time, if they wish.
