About us

At Marian House, our service is ultimately about you — your loved ones, and your peace of mind. There is no shortage of nursing home websites that promise professionalism, respect, and compliance with industry standards. We meet all those expectations — but for us, these standards are only the starting point. We believe every resident deserves more than just the basics.

about us

A Culture of Care Beyond the Norm

Our entire culture is based around exceeding the expectations of residents and their loved ones (in every sense of the word). We aim to delight each and every person who stays with us with the “little things” – because it’s these little things that collectively make up the most memorable experiences.

In fact, those who first visit Marian House claim to feel a deep sense of warmth and belonging from the very moment they walk through the front door. We’re incredibly proud of this culture we’ve fostered at our accommodation; as for us, care is about so much more than ticking boxes on a sheet of paper.

Our Legacy of Compassion

Since we first opened our doors in 1992, we’ve dedicated ourselves to putting a smile on every resident’s face.

Be it a smile because of a hot, hearty meal. Or because of a summer walk through the greenery. Or because of the comfortable mattresses that guarantee a good night’s sleep – we know our services involve managing a lot of vulnerabilities, but that doesn’t stop us from striving for smiles.

Our house has been under the ownership of Walmley Care Home Limited since December 2000; and we’ve since seen a major refurbishment across the accommodation – including new carpets, adjustable beds, and decor and tasteful furnishings to brighten all the rooms up.

The management team remains the best in the sector, and we also employ a full team of care and auxiliary staff – all of whom have a minimum of Level 2 NVQ in Health and Social Care. To date, we continue to train all our team members and ensure the highest standards are always adhered to.

Maintaining Physical, Emotional, and Mental Care and Dignity

Most people expect nursing homes to see to the physical needs of residents, which we efficiently do thanks to our full- time team of qualified nurses and care providers. However, there is a great focus on the emotional and mental well-being of our entire community as well, which is why every person who is staying with us at Marian House is encouraged to live a full and diverse life; and make their own choices. Residents are always at liberty to pick-and-choose what they like to do (health permitting) – and we always ensure their security and the best of safeguarding practices along the way.
